Jess has always had a keen passion for working with children, youth and families and specialises in creative & expressive therapy to process trauma, support and maintain emotional regulation and social development. Jess has a special interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and family trauma and loves to work through a humanistic lens. Jess uses the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions model to help build a framework for positive parenting. Jess believes that the therapeutic relationship, attachment and provision of a safe place are the main agents when it comes to positive outcomes. Jess also has lived experience of being neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ herself.

Jess has had experience working with children, mothers and adolescents in group settings during her University of Queensland placement at the Deception Bay Community Youth Programs. Jess has also been able to work at Yourtown Deception Bay with school aged youth. Jess also has experience working with neurodivergent youth and animals at the Happy Paws Happy Hearts program in Wacol utilising animal assisted interventions (AAI).

Jess is a genuine, fun and expressive therapist who always places the needs of her clients at the centre of everything she does. Jess is very passionate about working in families as she believes relationships are the key to healing trauma and to achieve long lasting and durable outcomes for everyone. Working with neurodivergent individuals offers avenues for Jess to be creative with her client’s passions and sessions will often see lots of expression through art, gaming, play and movement. Jess is playful,  authentic and is a team player always involving families, school teachers/staff and other therapists on the journey to support her clients as we all know, it can take a village.
